Róisín Murphy

Róisín was the Lead Physiotherapist of Ireland Women’s Senior Rugby team throughout their most recent successful years of achieving World Cup qualification and progression to WXV1 in 2024. In this role she was driving performance standards within sports medicine and the wider performance support staff team.

Additionally, Róisín sits on the board of directors for Netball NI as their High Performance Specialist. Prior to her role at the IRFU Róisín worked as a multisport physio at Sport Northern Ireland’s Sports Institute where she worked with a range of Olympics and Paralympic athletes. Most notably she was Ireland’s Women’s hockey teams head physio throughout their most successful years of achieving silver at the Hockey World Cup in London 2018 as well as claiming the title of Irelands first women’s team to qualify for an Olympics games, competing at the Tokyo Olympics Games in 2020.

Róisín completed a masters in Sports and Exercise medicine from Bath University in 2022. Of note Róisín is an ex inter-county athlete with Armagh LGFA.
